The early stages.
His professional career began in 1983 as a pianist and musical director, accompanying leading Argentine artists including Estela Raval, Sergio Denis, and Silvina Garré.
During his time in Argentine rock, he was invited to work with Pedro Aznar and later David Lebón, sharing the stage with Luis Alberto Spinetta, Charly García, and Nito Mestre.
As a session musician in Argentina, he accompanied Spanish artists touring South America, including Rocío Jurado, Isabel Pantoja, Paloma San Basilio, and Sara Montiel. Julio Iglesias also invited him to join his tours of the United States.
An international collaboration.
In 1993, Mario moved to New York and began a long collaboration with virtuoso guitarist Al Di Meola that continues today. As pianist, arranger, composer, and associate producer, he has contributed to seven CDs and three DVDs alongside jazz luminaries including Steve Gadd, Peter Erskine, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, John Patitucci, Marc Johnson, Manú Katché, Pino Palladino, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
With Di Meola, he has performed on prestigious stages including the Vienna State Opera, Montreux Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, concerts with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, Amadeus Chamber Orchestra, and Kyiv Symphony Orchestra, and at Blue Note jazz clubs in New York, Milan, and Tokyo. Over the years, these performances have totaled around 2,000 concerts.
A voice of his own around the world.
Mario and his Tango Jazz Trio have performed three times with the Chamber Orchestra Kremlin in Moscow.
He has performed at Bulgaria's Symphony Hall with the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra and at jazz festivals in Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Turkey, Brazil, Chile, and major Argentine cities. In Buenos Aires, he appeared at the Teatro Gran Rex and the prestigious Teatro Colón with the Instituto Superior de Arte Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Francisco Noya, a Boston Symphony Orchestra conductor and Berklee College of Music professor.
For his album “Forever Astor,” dedicated to the master of nuevo tango, Mario brought together US jazz musicians Abraham Laboriel, Paul Wertico, Bob Franceschini, and Mike Pope with fellow Argentinians Lucas Canel and Damián Vernis.
The journey continues.
2026
Mario signs with Switzerland's Mila Art Agency, beginning a new chapter in his career with performances planned for 2027.
2025
Mario signs with Miami's SUMAN ENTERTAINMENT GROUP and begins performing aboard Regent Seven Seas, part of Norwegian Cruise Line, as pianist with the Regent Signature Orchestra. He also presents two guest concerts, both solo and with orchestra members.
2024
- Castellón Jazz Festival in Spain with his Tango Jazz Trio.

- Release of “A Touch of Classics,” symphonic arrangements of 1980s pop music from the US and Europe with a jazz touch.

2022
Solo piano concerts in Madrid and Panama City. Spanish tour as a special guest with Al Di Meola.
2021
To celebrate Astor Piazzolla's centenary, Mario released the solo piano album “Piazzolla Centenario.” Recorded in Madrid, it was selected by Diario Folk magazine as one of Spain's best albums of the year.
In May, guitarist Roman Miroshnichenko invited Mario to the World Guitar Festival in Kaluga, Russia, as a special guest for a tribute to Piazzolla with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra.
2020
He released “Your Inner Power,” an album of ten original compositions published by Warner Chappell Music and recorded with leading Argentine musicians. He also gave solo piano concerts at acclaimed jazz clubs in Madrid, Geneva, and Zurich.
2019
Mario moved to Madrid. He was preparing for a new European tour with Al Di Meola, which was canceled because of the pandemic.
2016
The Buenos Aires City Legislature named Mario Parmisano an Outstanding Cultural Personality.
